Piotr Orzechowski (born 31 December 1990, Kraków), performing as Pianohooligan, is a Polish jazz pianist, improviser and composer who moves fluidly between jazz, contemporary classical music and the avant-garde. In 2011 he became the first Pole to win the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition, and his solo albums on Decca Classics have been widely recognised as landmark releases in Polish jazz. He has collaborated with Philip Glass, Krzysztof Penderecki, Randy Brecker and Adrian Utley (Portishead), and performs regularly with leading Polish orchestras including Sinfonia Varsovia and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Orzechowski performed a solo concert titled 'Critique of Swing in Two Parts' at the Jazz Tuesday series in Piaseczno on 25 November 2025.
His fourth solo piano album, 'Critique of Swing in Two Parts', was released on 25 April 2024, premiered live at the Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw.
The premiere concert of 'Critique of Swing in Two Parts' was broadcast on Polish Radio Programme 2 on 3 May 2024.
Orzechowski performed at the kxntrst music festival in Warsaw (22-24 November 2024), an event focused on improvised music and experimental electronics.
