About

Quicksand is an American post-hardcore band from New York City, founded in 1990 by singer/guitarist Walter Schreifels out of the wreckage of Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today. Their first two albums - Slip (1993) and Manic Compression (1995) - became cult touchstones that shaped a generation of bands, from Deftones to At the Drive-In. After splitting in 1999 and reuniting in 2012, the trio of Schreifels, bassist Sergio Vega and drummer Alan Cage has kept releasing new music, with their fifth album Bring On The Psychics due July 2026.
