Robbie Williams (born 13 February 1974 in Stoke-on-Trent) is an English singer-songwriter who rose to fame as a member of Take That before launching a solo career in 1996. With 90 million albums sold worldwide and a record-breaking 16 UK number one albums - more than any other artist in history, including the Beatles - he ranks among the best-selling British musicians of all time. His live shows are a spectacle in their own right: in 2006 he set a Guinness World Record by selling 1.6 million tickets in a single day.
