A concert featuring three acclaimed Austrian musicians performing at the prestigious Brucknerhaus concert hall in Linz.
Stephan Koncz (born 1984 in Vienna) is an Austrian-Hungarian cellist, composer, arranger and conductor who has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker's cello section since the 2010/11 season, and of the ensemble 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic. Alongside his orchestral work he composes and arranges, conducts, and performs chamber music as part of the crossover ensemble Philharmonix - The Vienna Berlin Music Club. His recent output as a composer includes a Clarinet Concerto premiered at the Leipzig Gewandhaus and orchestral arrangements of Brahms's clarinet sonatas released on PentaTone in 2025.
Koncz's newly composed Clarinet Concerto received its world premiere at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, performed by Daniel Ottensamer with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst.
The album 'Brahms/Koncz: Sonatas for Clarinet and Orchestra' was released on PentaTone, featuring Koncz's own orchestral arrangements of the two Brahms clarinet sonatas, with Daniel Ottensamer and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Koncz himself.
Koncz is listed as a performing artist at the International Chamber Music Festival of Salon-de-Provence (1-9 August 2026).
