Open'er Festival 2026
One of Europe's largest music festivals featuring headliners like Florence + The Machine, The Cure, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performing across multiple stages.
The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley in 1976 by Robert Smith and Lol Tolhurst, who went on to define post-punk and gothic rock across five decades. Fronted throughout by Smith - the band's sole constant member - they built a catalogue stretching from the stark minimalism of Seventeen Seconds (1980) to the lush despair of Disintegration (1989) and the pop euphoria of Wish (1992). In 2019 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2024 they returned after a 16-year studio silence with Songs of a Lost World, which hit number one in the UK and earned a Grammy nomination.
The Cure confirmed a new studio album is recorded, with the band's official bio noting they returned to Rockfield Studios in March 2025 to record 13 songs for a follow-up to Songs of a Lost World.
The concert film 'The Cure: The Show of a Lost World' - a 4K remastered, 31-song document of the November 2024 Troxy show - was released in cinemas worldwide on December 11, 2025, followed by a Blu-ray/DVD release.
A remix album, Mixes of a Lost World, featuring 24 reworks by artists including Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, and Orbital, was released on 13 June 2025.
Songs of a Lost World debuted at number one in the UK - the band's first chart-topping album since Wish in 1992 - and also topped the Billboard Top Album Sales chart in the US.
Songs of a Lost World received a Metacritic score of 93 out of 100 ('universal acclaim') from 25 critic reviews upon its release on 1 November 2024.
