About

The Notwist are a German indie rock band from Weilheim in Bavaria, active since 1989 and built around brothers Markus and Micha Acher. Over three decades they have moved from hardcore and dark indie rock toward a sound that weaves electronics, post-rock and experimental pop - a shift crystallised on their landmark 2002 album Neon Golden. They release on their own Alien Transistor label and on Morr Music, and are one of the few German indie acts to have built a lasting international following.
