About: The Notwist

Formed in Bavaria in 1989, The Notwist have spent 35 years quietly rewriting what German indie rock can sound like - blending live instrumentation with electronics in ways that still feel fresh. Their 2002 record Neon Golden remains a touchstone of European indie, and their 2026 album News from Planet Zombie shows the band still pushing forward.
