About

Wallis Bird (born 29 January 1982 in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford) is an Irish singer-songwriter based in Berlin since 2012, known for a raw, blues-tinged voice and electrifying live shows. As a child she lost fingers in a lawnmower accident and relearned guitar by playing a right-handed instrument upside down - a technique that became her signature. Across eight studio albums she has won two Irish Meteor Awards and the 2017 German Musikautorenpreis, and her catalogue spans folk, soul, rock and art-pop.
