Philharmonie Essen is a major concert hall located in the heart of Essen, opened in 2004 as part of the Aalto-Quartier cultural district. Designed by the architectural firm von Gerkan, Marg und Partner (gmp), it seats around 1,800 guests in its main hall and is home to the Essener Philharmoniker.
