Woyzeck is an unfinished play by Georg Büchner, written in 1837 and published posthumously. It follows a poor soldier driven to murder by poverty, humiliation and jealousy. The work is a cornerstone of German dramatic literature and is widely seen as a forerunner of expressionist theatre.
