Carmina Burana is a cantata by German composer Carl Orff, composed in 1937. Written for soloists, choir and orchestra, it draws on medieval Latin and German poems. It is one of the most frequently performed choral works of the 20th century, widely recognised for its opening movement O Fortuna.
