Claudia Sofia Trio

Cláudia Sofia is a singer and guitarist from Mindelo (Cape Verde), the hometown of Cesária Évora. In autumn 2024 and 2025, the Cláudia Sofia Trio completed two widely praised tours with concerts in Portugal, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg. In 2025, the label "o-tone music" released their debut CD titled "mas um melodia" - entirely self-penned compositions.

Cláudia's songs are rooted in the musical traditions of her Cape Verdean homeland, while drawing on influences from Brazilian and European-American music, reaching as far as classical music. She sings of life and love on the archipelago off the coast of West Africa, where a Creole culture has taken shape over the past 500 years.
