The American Poiesis Quartet won the prestigious Banff Competition in 2025 - a Canadian contest renowned for its exacting standards in string quartet playing. Alongside the First Prize, the ensemble received the award for best interpretation of the commissioned work "Rapprochement" by Kati Agócs, as well as the Cleveland Award.

Back in 2023, the quartet had already taken the Grand Prize, Gold Medal, and Lift Every Voice Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, plus the Gold Medal and BIPOC Prize at the St. Paul String Quartet Competition. A win at the Louis and Susan Meisel Competition followed in 2024. The Hyde Park Herald called them "an ensemble to watch".
