Psycho
Tauberphilharmonie Weikersheim, Germany

"In Psycho I guided the audience as if I were playing an organ," Alfred Hitchcock told François Truffaut. Matthias Brandt (Polizeiruf 110, Kurzschluss and many others) brings this cinematic masterpiece to the stage together with pianist and singer Jens Thomas - drawing on elements from the literary source material.
Thomas, called by Süddeutsche Zeitung the "Jimi Hendrix of the piano," improvises a soundtrack to Brandt's staged reading. The evening thrives on spontaneous interaction between the two performers and is deliberately open-ended - nothing is routinely rehearsed.
