Antoine de Saint-Exupéry gave the world "The Little Prince", one of the most beloved books ever written. Before that, the French professional aviator had already made his name as an author - his award-winning "Terre des Hommes" ("Wind, Sand and Stars") drew on the severe injuries he suffered after a crash. The reflections on love, life, values and idealism he published there in 1939 feel more relevant today than ever, and they form the theme of the popular Festspiel-Cocktail in the 2026 festival summer.

Musical director of the Frankenfestspiele Rudolf Hild will present "Wind, Sand and Stars" as a musical journey in the spirit of Saint-Exupéry, together with the Frankenfestspiele ensemble and musicians. The programme spans a wide range of styles and is sure to delight both regular visitors and first-timers, making this evening in the castle courtyard a highlight of the Röttingen open-air theatre season.
