Altes Land - Stage Adaptation of the Novel by Dörte Hansen

Vera Eckhoff flees as a small child with her mother on foot from East Prussia. They end up on a farm in the Altes Land - among apple and cherry trees, surrounded by suspicious villagers. When her mother leaves Vera in Hamburg for a better life, the new home south of the Elbe remains foreign to her. Decades later, two people seeking home suddenly appear at the door: Vera's niece Anne and her son Leon, fleeing life in Hamburg-Ottensen, early music lessons, and latte-macchiato mothers. In the end, both women find something they never sought: a family.

The stage adaptation is based on the novel by Dörte Hansen. The Hamburger Morgenpost wrote: "Gripping! Outstanding! Here a bestseller becomes a celebrated theatrical evening... a moving and touching theatrical experience."

At 18:15 there will be an introduction to the play with Linda Keil in the auditorium.
