A musical based on Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" and the film by Gabriel Pascal (book by Alan Jay Lerner), music by Frederick Loewe. German lyrics by Robert Gilbert.
Flower girl Eliza Doolittle catches the eye of phonetics professor Henry Higgins on the street - her coarse dialect is impossible to ignore. He makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering: within six months, he will use speech training to turn the "gutter plant" Eliza into a proper lady of society. Eliza takes up the challenge and dares to step into high society. After a rocky start, the experiment seems to be working - until love gets in the way...
A smash hit from its Broadway premiere in 1956, "My Fair Lady" is now one of the best-known musicals in the world, with earworms like "Es grünt so grün", "Mit 'nem kleinen Stückchen Glück" and "Ich hätt' getanzt heut' Nacht". By turns hilarious and surprisingly moving, the show dazzles with brilliant crowd scenes, glittering ballroom nights and lively pub moments. Directed by Marc Krone.
