Anniversary Matinee - "Dances of Joy and Festival Songs"

In 2026, the Fulda Municipal Concert Choir Winfridia celebrates 150 years of existence. The anniversary year culminates in a festival weekend on 26 and 27 September 2026 under the motto "Dances of Joy and Festival Songs" - featuring the grand anniversary concert on Saturday and the festive anniversary matinee on Sunday.

The Sunday morning matinee comprises approximately 60 minutes of music, complemented by greetings from various distinguished guests and a video portrait of the choir. Under the direction of Carsten Rupp, accompanied by the Vogtland Philharmonic, the programme spans 250 years of musical history - from oratorios and opera choruses of the Classical and Romantic periods with works by Haydn, Handel, Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Verdi, Brahms and Vaughan Williams to contemporary choral literature and film music.
