Star Struck - Christian Benning Percussion Group

The Christian Benning Percussion Group opens the new season with the programme "StarStruck" - a fresh approach compared to 2025, when timeless music of the great masters was adapted for percussion instruments.

This time, the focus is on composers who were the first to write chamber music for percussion - true "stars" of percussion literature. Many of the works revolve around stars and celestial bodies: Samir Odeh Tamimi's Roaïkron depicts the formation of matter, Pléïades tells of the Pleiades constellation, and Steve Reich's Mallet Quartet (2026 jubilee!) also has a cosmic connection.
