Wolfgang Lackerschmid Quartet returns to Augsburg's Jazzsommer at Botanischer Garten on Wednesday, 12 August 2026 at 20:00. The vibraphonist and composer takes the stage for the first time in 26 years, marking his 70th birthday with an international quartet. Botanischer Garten is a municipal botanical garden spanning roughly 4.5 hectares, home to nearly 8,000 plant species from around the world. This concert is one of two German dates on the artist's tour. Admission: 26 €.

A central figure in European jazz for five decades, Augsburg-based vibraphonist Wolfgang Lackerschmid brings a rare combination of improvisational depth and compositional range - from jazz standards to orchestral works. His duo recordings with Chet Baker put him on the world map, and he continues to collaborate with top-tier musicians across genres.
