Wolfgang Lackerschmid Quartet

Wolfgang Lackerschmid last took the stage at the Jazzsommer in the Botanischer Garten 26 years ago. This year the vibraphonist and composer returns - and celebrates his 70th birthday in the process. He made jazz history early on with the album "Ballads for Two", recorded as a duo with Chet Baker; his playing remains virtuosic, harmonically sophisticated and consistently melodic to this day.

For this occasion Lackerschmid has assembled a specially chosen quartet of long-standing companions from the international scene: Yotam Silberstein (guitar) and Karl Latham (drums) come from New York, Stefan Rademacher (bass) from Cologne.
