With "Mythos of Âşık", musician and producer Erdem Pancarcı turns to the âşık tradition - one of the oldest musical-poetic lineages of Anatolia and Mesopotamia. Carried by wandering musicians, storytellers and spiritual seekers, this heritage weaves together folk poetry, mysticism and social reality. On his new release, Pancarcı pairs traditional instruments such as bağlama and tembûr with jazz, improvisational elements and global musical styles. The songs deal with love, longing, justice and spiritual devotion.
