Faust. A Tragedy - Landestheater Schwaben

"Man errs as long as he strives."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Insatiable ambition drives the scientist and physician Dr. Heinrich Faust into a pact with the devil. Restlessly, the arrogant scholar hungers for knowledge and understanding - nothing can satisfy his painful yearning, nothing grants him contentment, home, or happiness. So he embarks on a wild journey through the universe at the side of the devil Mephistopheles.

From one pleasure to the next, they recklessly take what they want. But then Faust is offered a chance at true happiness that even Mephistopheles did not foresee: the young Margarete, who falls desperately in love with him. A desperate struggle for the heart and soul of mankind begins.

Goethe's masterpiece as a drama of humanity and society - presented by Landestheater Schwaben.
