Benefit Reading of Historical Love Letters - "Oh, if only I could put myself in this envelope..."

On Tuesday, August 25, Dresden actor Lars Jung reads historical love letters spanning eight centuries from 7 p.m. in the Kronensaal at Albrechtsberg Palace. The event is a benefit reading to support the restoration of the Roman Bath in the palace grounds.

Under the title "Oh, if only I could put myself in this envelope..." lovers from around the world speak - from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Anton Chekhov through Frida Kahlo to Alain Delon and Wolf Biermann. The letters are poetic, erotic, filled with longing and passion.

Lars Jung, born in Dresden in 1952, was an ensemble member at Staatsschauspiel Dresden for many decades, appeared in DEFA films and television productions, works as a voice actor, and gives guest performances with musical-literary programs in Germany and abroad.

All ticket proceeds go toward the continued restoration of the Roman Bath. Doors and box office open at 6:30 p.m.
