Classical Guitar with Klaus Jäckle - Impromptu: Scarlatti - Schubert — Casa De La Trova, Wendelstein

IMPROMPTU: The Sounding Moment
Scarlatti & Schubert: Sound and Poetry

On 10 October 2026, guitarist Klaus Jäckle invites audiences to Casa de la Trova for a concert evening that brings out the surprising parallels between two seemingly distant composers: Domenico Scarlatti, the Baroque virtuoso at the Spanish royal court, and Franz Schubert, the perceptive forerunner of Viennese Romanticism. What unites them is the art of capturing an entire world in a single, fleeting moment.

Under the title "IMPROMPTU: FROM THE MOMENT - Southern Fire & Viennese Melancholy", Scarlatti's fiery sonatas meet Schubert's poetic impromptus head-on. Scarlatti's single-movement pieces sparkle with southern temperament - they mimic the clatter of castanets and the strumming of flamenco guitars, and surprise with bold harmonic turns. Schubert, in turn, captured pure improvisation in his impromptus: full of lyrical poetry, sudden major-minor shifts, and folk dances.

All works are performed in Jäckle's own arrangements, which translate the complex piano writing so that the composers' original intentions are preserved while the guitar's percussive and lyrical strengths come fully to the fore. "It is a dialogue across the centuries," Jäckle explains. "Both composers break the rules of their time to make emotions felt in the most direct way possible. They show us that a short piece can carry the same emotional depth as a vast symphony."
