AMARCORD - Hommage à Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676)

The vocal ensemble amarcord performs at St. Katharinen in Hamburg on Friday, 18 September 2026, marking the 350th anniversary of Paul Gerhardt's death. Five singers, all former Thomaner, present chorales and early music by des Prez, Walter, Schütz, Hassler, Bach and others, alongside the world premiere of a work by Pohlert. St. Katharinen is a Gothic brick church dating to the 14th century, its distinctive tower anchoring the old port district and standing among Hamburg's five principal Lutheran churches. This concert is one of two German dates for amarcord's tour, the other taking place in Schotten.
