Vergiss nie, dass ich dich liebe! - Chanson Theater Concert

In 1947, Édith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich meet in New York: the cheeky young chanteuse from Paris and the already world-famous star from Berlin. Their encounter grows into a close friendship - and a great love. After Marlene Dietrich's death, a yellowed note was found on her bedside table, one she had apparently always kept with her. Piaf had written on it: "Vergiss nie, dass ich dich liebe!" (Never forget that I love you!)

These two women are at the heart of a chanson universe spanning their biographies across two world wars. Figures such as Jean Cocteau, Bruno Coquatrix and Ernest Hemingway appear along the way; the story moves between Paris, Berlin, New York and beyond. The music draws on chansons - grand and intimate - by Édith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Aznavour, Yves Montand, ZAZ and Charles Trenet.

On stage: Isabella Rapp (vocals), Mathias Weibrich (vocals, piano) and Lars Hansen (double bass). Isabella Rapp studied musical theatre at the STELLA Academy in Hamburg and has been performing since graduating in 2003 - with orchestras, jazz trios, big bands and rock bands as well as solo piano accompaniment, singing in three languages across a wide range of styles.
