Debuts of the Season

This evening celebrates three debut novels developed in the LCB's Autor∙innenwerkstatt Prosa 2023 writers' workshop.

Alisha Gamisch's "Parasiti" (Voland & Quist) traces the lives of three Russian-German women with great narrative force - from Novosibirsk in the 1960s to a near-future Fürstenfeldbruck. Clara Leinemann's "Gelbe Monster" (Suhrkamp) writes with remarkable lightness about a protagonist who, with the support of other women, manages to leave a relationship that has turned violent. And Son Lewandowski's "Die Routinen" (Klett-Cotta) offers an artistically bold look into the life of a competitive gymnast - dissecting a world everyone suspects is hard, but whose exploitative nature, buried under glitter and spray lacquer, few want to see.
