Leinen los! - A Glittering Revue
Schulzentrum Gevelsberg West, Germany
The revue "Leinen los" takes the audience on a turbulent voyage back to 1912: the shock of the Titanic's fate still lingers - but stay in Europe? Not a chance. Welcome aboard the first Ocean Liner setting course for America once more, this time determined that neither the mood nor the ship will sink.
Captain Franz-Joseph struggles with a most peculiar form of seasickness: he keeps falling asleep - especially when the helm demands full attention. Cruise director Markus, meanwhile, battles constant stress trying to contain the chaos on board and safely guide the audience through the evening.
Musically, the journey begins in old Europe with sounds from operetta literature and ends in the Broadway fever of Manhattan - with the anthem "New York, New York" and other world hits. The ensemble of Kammeroper Köln performs alongside musicians from the Cologne Symphony Orchestra, in glittering costumes and with elaborate choreography.
