Grand Piano Evening with Star Pianist Haiou Zhang - Commemorating the 140th Anniversary of Franz Liszt's Death

Following his concerts in Bad Orb in 2023 and 2025, pianist Haiou Zhang returns on Sunday, 27 September 2026 at 20:00 to the theatre hall of Bad Orb Concert Hall. The occasion marks the 140th anniversary of Franz Liszt's death.

Zhang is among the sought-after pianists of his generation and regularly performs at the Berlin Philharmonic, Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City, Qintai Concert Hall in Wuhan, and Ontario Philharmonic in Toronto. Music critic Gregor Willmes wrote of him: "In his performance style, he recalls the great virtuosos of the 19th century, which is still regarded today as the golden age of piano artistry".

The evening's programme is dedicated to works by Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin - two composers whose close friendship, mutual inspiration, and artistic rivalry shaped their legacies.
