Studentisches Orchester Baden-Württemberg e.V. - Symphony No. 2 in C minor "Resurrection"
Stadthalle Biberach, Biberach an der Riß, Germany
To mark its 10th anniversary, the Studentisches Orchester Baden-Württemberg e.V. performs Mahler's "Resurrection" Symphony - for the first time in Biberach an der Riß. The work wrestles with existential questions of life, death and hope, and calls for forces that dwarf any conventional symphonic scale: 110 musicians, a distant orchestra and a choir.
The orchestra brings together students from universities and colleges across Baden-Württemberg. Once a year they tackle a demanding programme through an intensive rehearsal period, then take it to several concert venues.
A core aim of the association is to make classical music accessible regardless of financial means - for performers and audiences alike.
