Just let the Free Bird fly… Lynyrds Frynds love the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd - and it shows. More than 45 years after the original band's heyday, this music still carries a power that reaches far beyond its traditional audience. Those who previously knew only "Sweet Home Alabama" from countless party bands are usually surprised by how layered Lynyrd Skynyrd's southern rock truly is: lyrics rooted in life, grounded in delta blues and country music from the American South, infused with the English blues-rock of the late sixties - all of it fused into a genre of its own.

Lynyrds Frynds follow Ronnie Van Zant's principle: "People want to hear live what they know from the record." No pathos about the original band's tragic end, no self-aggrandizement - just music and the joy of living. And of course they play "Sweet Home Alabama" too, hoping that co-writer Ed King was wrong when he claimed: "Nobody can play it right - nobody!"
