Philosophy and Music - "Ideologies: Harbingers of Authoritarianism"

On Sunday, 20 September 2026, philosopher Dr. Jürgen Lambrecht will deliver the third lecture in the series "Philosophy of Systems" at Spitalkirche. His topic: "Ideologies: Harbingers of Authoritarianism". The focus is on the growing ideologization of political parties and public discourse. Lambrecht examines the socio-psychological foundations underlying the emergence of ideologies and explains why they are gaining increasing support and political influence. He pays particular attention to ideologies rooted in religious foundations.

Jürgen Lambrecht is a physician, natural scientist, master's degree holder in philosophy, and sociologist. As a philosophical author, he lives in Baden-Baden and presents findings from his scientific research in this lecture series.

In the second part of the evening, Marie Viard (cello) and Lorenzo Salvà Peralta (clarinet) will perform chamber music works.
