The Broken Jug - Heinrich von Kleist's Comedy Classic - Premiere

What really happened that night in young Eve's house? A broken jug, an angry mother, a jealous fiancé - and a judge who must solve the case under the watchful eye of Councillor Walter, though he himself has much to hide. In Kleist's comedy classic, an ordinary court proceeding becomes a breathless exchange of words full of lies, suspicions, and devastating punchlines.

Director Ragna Kirk relocates the story to the present day: as a fast-paced dating show in the style of "Farmer Seeks Wife", where morality, power, and masculinity are publicly debated. Who gets to decide the narrative? Who do you believe? And who's really in control here - on stage and in the patriarchy?

With a feminist perspective, plenty of humor, and breakneck pace, wit meets situational comedy, a classical text encounters surprising relevance.
