Kulturzentrum Alte Weberei hosts the inaugural Nordhorn Deathfest (NHDF) for the first time. Ten international death metal bands perform at this premiere - the second major metal event at this venue after "Grafschafter Metalfest".

Headliner: BENEDICTION - founded in 1989 in Birmingham/UK, they have always championed old school death metal. In 2019, Dave Ingram (including Bolt Thrower) returned to the band; their last two albums were enthusiastically received by fans and specialist press.

PENTACLE (NL) have been active since 1990. The band around frontman Wannes stands for no-frills death metal - UH! I SAID UHH!!

TEMPLE OF DREAD from East Frisia play traditional old-school death metal; the band was founded in 2018, has released five albums since then and counts members of Slaughterday in their ranks.

CARNAL TOMB from Berlin have existed since 2014 and combine rapid blastbeats with doom passages and energetic mid-tempos into a contemporary version of classic death metal.

NIGHTBEARER from Paderborn blend Swedish melodic death metal with black metal elements and doom passages on their current album.

PHANTOM CORPORATION - the band around Leif Jensen (including Dew-Scented) mix death metal, thrash metal and crust punk. The line-up includes (former) members of Obscenity, Eroded and Weak Aside.

KEITZER from Stadlohn have stood for hyperspeed death/grind since 1999, released eight albums - with an unchanged line-up.

CAEDERE from Haaksbergen/NL have been active since 1998 and play a brutal blend of US blast death metal and Swedish death metal. Godverdomme!

THE HERITANCE from Deventer/NL play melodic death metal with groove and aggression.

HATEDOTCOM from the Ruhr Valley open the evening with death/thrash metal, groove and melody.
