Das Fräulein Wunder - A Musical Comedy by Murat Yeginer
Theater Melle, Germany

Germany, late 1940s: three women dream of performing a concert before the Queen in the gardens of Buckingham Palace - but first they must win a singing competition. And that will only happen if Fräulein Wunder takes part.
At the auditions they meet: Rosa, a substitute German teacher; Käthe, a seamstress with opera training; and Hilde, a milkmaid and yodeller, a natural talent through and through. A women's ensemble is to be formed - or more precisely, a women's band, as Captain John McGintley, the organizer of the "Anglo-German-Swing Festival", explicitly emphasizes. A major challenge for these three so very different "German Frolleins".
Murat Yeginer's musical comedy blends humour with melancholy and is enriched with numerous songs from the 1930s and 1940s.
