Søren Gundermann (Piano) and Ursula Suchanek (Quinton) Perform Film Music
Scharwenka Kulturforum, Bad Saarow, Germany
Søren Gundermann, who captivated audiences last year at Scharwenkahaus with his "Favorite Things", returns this time with his colleague Ursula Suchanek. She accompanies him on the quinton, a five-string bowed instrument.
The focus is on film music - and the question of how a simple, modest melody can tell a grand story with just a few chords, spark a journey through time, and create an entire world. Gundermann and Suchanek explore scenes from films such as "James Bond", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", "Pippi Longstocking", and "Harry Potter".
The programme moves between respectful homage, humorous reinterpretation, and free collage - a chamber music conversation about beloved melodies from Ennio Morricone to Franz Schubert.
