Frau Luna - Dernière - Frankenfestspiele Röttingen
Burg Brattenstein, Röttingen, Germany
Operetta in two acts
by Heinz Bolten-Baeckers
Music by Paul Lincke
Musical arrangements by Rudolf Hild
"Frau Luna" by Paul Lincke, first performed in 1899, is one of the best-known works of the Berlin operetta tradition. To mark the composer's 160th birthday, the Frankenfestspiele Röttingen present a specially revised Röttingen edition prepared by the musical director - featuring numbers such as "Das ist die Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft", "Schenk mir doch ein kleines bisschen Liebe" and "Schlösser, die im Monde liegen".
Mechanic Fritz Steppke builds a balloon for a trip to the Moon and sets off with his friends Lämmermeier and Panneke and his landlady, the widow Pusebach. On the Moon they find a pleasure park full of lavish festivities and romantic entanglements - until the balloon bursts and the journey home suddenly seems impossible.
This is the final performance of the production.
