Ruth-Maria Thomas's new novel "Die zweitgrößte Liebe" (dtv, 2026) follows Michelle and Henry - their love across social divides that sometimes seem surmountable and, more often, far too wide.

The evening goes beyond the relationships in the book itself: Ruth-Maria Thomas joins her long-time companions Cynthia Cornelius and Mai-An Nguyen to talk about the acknowledgements section - which WhatsApp threads, shared memories and conversations shaped the novel.

The Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB) is a renowned literary centre on the shores of the Wannsee, founded in 1963.
