Helge Schneider - Ellebogen vom Tich!

Helge Schneider, the wig-wearing eccentric from the Ruhr region, trumpets and chatters his way into the next decade. In a wild take on something like a miniature orchestra, he rattles his audience's diaphragms to the limit - one moment hammering the drums, the next coaxing a jumble of sounds from the saxophone he keeps cleverly hidden until its moment arrives. Piano on the left, trumpet on the right, left foot keeping rhythm, right foot going boom boom on the big bass drum.

Leo plucks the four strings of his double bass, Sandro hacks through budding thoughts with his ultra-slim, sharply ringing old Gibson. A feeling of mega-nonsense takes hold when Helge spontaneously ends the concert mid-show - only to launch straight back into it.

If you want to hold on to a bit of humour in these grim times, this is the place. Just watch out: elbows off the table!
