The Emperor's New Clothes - A Spellbinding Fairy Tale about Appearance and Reality after H.C. Andersen — Stadthalle Rheinberg, Rheinberg
Description was written before the event

Has Emperor Clemens lost his mind? He struts across the palace square in nothing but his underwear. What has happened?

Emperor Clemens is obsessed with clothes - he believes that only magnificent garments can impress his people. The country is bankrupt, the master of ceremonies and the finance minister are at their wits' end, and at night his clothes haunt him even in his dreams. Seamstress Elsa and weaver Walter desperately await their payment. But necessity breeds invention - two experts in magical and fashionable imperial robes appear at the palace and promise garments that remain invisible to fools or unworthy people. The emperor is delighted.

This theatrical fairy tale after H.C. Andersen combines colourful costume magic, fairy-tale suspense, and music. The audience witnesses how the magnificent robes come alive in the majesty's dreams - and how the clothes-obsessed emperor is ultimately saved by a trick and a small child.
