A bear in the zoo walks the same route behind bars and walls day after day, annoyed by the gawkers and listlessly devouring his three daily meals. A crow flies from enclosure to enclosure, always searching for a small morsel - but the other animals leave nothing for her. Three meals a day, of which she can only dream.

In this play about an unequal friendship, Baltscheit poses two questions that concern both generations: Must a safe life necessarily mean a lack of freedom? And does "great freedom" not all too often end in the right of the stronger? In tender dialogues, both adults and young audiences recognize themselves - because the crow and the bear are ultimately you and me.
