"Beatles & Beyond" - Two Perspectives on Contemporary Jazz

As part of the Tübinger Jazz & Klassik Tage 2026 festival, bassist Axel Kühn presents two of his favourite ensembles in a double concert evening at the newly renovated Marc-Kemmler-Saal. The concert is realized in cooperation with Tübinger Musikschule, where Axel Kühn teaches electric bass and jazz double bass.

The first set features the Axel Kühn Trio with their current album "Vision and Movement - Live at BIX". A solid unit for over a decade, the trio has developed a distinctive sound combining energy, lyrical depth, and rhythmic sophistication.

In the second set, Ull Möck & Band perform together with Zurich-based vocalist Lilly Thornton, presenting "Fab Four Go Blue Note". Stuttgart jazz pianist and arranger Ull Möck reimagines beloved and lesser-known Beatles classics through the lens of 1950s and 1960s jazz and soul-jazz - multifaceted reinterpretations of the Beatles songbook.
