Afrika Kulturfest 2026 - Culture in the Courtyard

On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Afrika Kulturfest takes place in the courtyard of CD-Kaserne in Celle - this year for the first time alongside the Thaimarkt, under the joint title "Tag der Kulturen" (Day of Cultures).

The Afrika Kulturfest has drawn more than 6,000 visitors in previous years. The programme includes African dances, drumming performances and live music on stage, plus stalls with culinary specialities and traditional crafts. The Thaimarkt (organised by Thai-Natur Handel) adds to the mix on the small car park in front of the halls, with authentic Thai food, local products and a soundtrack of Thai music and DJ sets.

Entry is free. The event is organised by CD-Kaserne in cooperation with members of the African community in Celle. The Afrika Kulturfest project is funded by the federal programme "Demokratie leben!" of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
