Wetterau Youth Symphony Orchestra - 2026

The Wetterau Youth Symphony Orchestra performs its closing concert on Sunday, 11 October 2026 at 4 p.m. in the Jugendstil-Theater in Bad Nauheim. Under the direction of Daniel Stratievsky, young musicians present a programme combining classical and film music: Offenbach's overture to "Orpheus in the Underworld", the 2nd and 4th movements of Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique", excerpts from Grieg's "Peer Gynt" and music from "Super Mario", Klaus Doldinger's "Das Boot" and John Williams' "Superman March".

The orchestra is an annual autumn holiday project for string, wind and percussion players aged 12-19 from the region. Under professional direction, participants rehearse together and perform several concerts.

The project is run by the Wetterau music schools in Bad Nauheim, Bad Vilbel and Karben, Büdingen, Butzbach and Friedberg, in cooperation with Augustinerschule Friedberg, Ernst-Ludwig-Schule Bad Nauheim and other secondary schools in the Wetterau region. The orchestra project in 2026 is supported by the "Ein Herz für Bad Nauheim" citizens' foundation, Oberhessische Versorgungsbetriebe AG, Förderverein Musikschule Bad Nauheim e. V. and private patrons.
