A tribute to the versatility of female voices

What makes a woman "strong"? Is it the drive to assert herself, or the quiet persistence of making herself heard? Bold defiance or tender vulnerability? With these questions, concert pianist Olga Shkrygunova and singer-violinist Iris Siegfried return to the stage following the success of their evening "Democratìa".

Their new programme weaves together classical music, original chansons and stories about women. The evening features works in which women are celebrated, admired or misunderstood, alongside compositions by artists who had to fight for their place in music history - including pieces by Clara Schumann, Mel Bonis, Barbara Strozzi, Lili Boulanger, Prokofiev and Piazzolla.

An evening that also invites you to listen more closely to the quieter notes.
