The Little King December
Hof-Theater Bad Freienwalde, Germany
"The Little King December" is a theatrical play based on Axel Hacke's novel, performed by Torsten Gesser - the intendant of the Theater des Lachens Frankfurt/Oder. The guest performance is created in cooperation with Theater des Lachens Frankfurt (Oder).
The "Office-Goer" is sad - until the little King December cheers him up, a tiny monarch who lives in a crack of his bookshelf. In his kingdom, everything is reversed: you are born large and grow smaller over time, you can forget all sensible things, and dreams are kept in beautiful boxes until eventually you live only in them. Life begins in the evening when you fall asleep and takes a break in the morning when you wake up. On a large floor cloth that resembles a chessboard, the "Office-Goer" sits surrounded by many unopened boxes and cases.
Musical accompaniment: Leonard Gerstenberg | Performance: Torsten Gesser | Direction: Gundula Wolk | Set design: Stefan Spitzer
