Pike-perch and Pike - Strategies, Tactics and Practical Tips with Sebastian Hänel and Max Guder

Sebastian Hänel, predatory fish and pike-perch expert, returns to the Bürgersaal Waren - this time alongside pike specialist Max Guder. Together they share strategies, tactics and tried-and-tested tips for fishing pike-perch and pike.

Fishing for pike-perch has been Hänel's greatest passion for over 20 years. In that time he has fished nearly every major water in Germany, continuously sharpening his instinct for the species. His personal best stands at 102 cm.

Max Guder has been fishing since early childhood, with pike as his target species. He travels waters across Europe - from the bank and from the boat - always hunting the biggest specimen a venue has to offer. In 2024 he won the European Championship in pike fishing. His PB is 132 cm, and despite his young age he has already landed more than 30 pike exceeding 120 cm.
