The youth string orchestra "LandStreicher" brings together talented young string players from across Saxony. Behind the playful name is a seriously dedicated ensemble that gathers children between 10 and 14 every summer for nearly two weeks - this year for the 25th time.
Several generations of young string players have already come through this orchestral school. Those who took part in the early years are long since grown up and have gone their own ways: many became professional musicians, others are still studying music, and quite a few now play as well-trained young players in amateur orchestras across the region.
