Charlotte Knappstein - Hildegard Knef at 100
took place · 10 Oct 2026
Neues Schauspielhaus Uelzen, Germany
Description was written before the event
Hildegard Knef (1925-2002) wrote her own songs - as well as seven books, including the bestseller "Der geschenkte Gaul" (1975). After the film "Die Sünderin," Broadway came calling, and the press declared: "Knef is the best thing that ever came out of Germany." Her dry Berlin wit was always praised: "I have a simple recipe for staying fit: I go crazy every day!"
Charlotte Knappstein steps into this role, accompanied by Torsten Urban on guitar. Together they have rearranged Knef's songs and added some special touches. The evening is a tribute to her 100th birthday.
