Ray Cooper: Even for a shadow - Solo Tour '26

Ray Cooper made his name as bassist and cellist of the Oysterband, touring concert halls worldwide with the band since 1988 and winning three BBC Radio Folk Awards in 2012. The Oysterband also visited Riedstadt that same year, opening the very first Volk im Schloss festival.

In his solo work, Cooper puts his own melancholic lyrics and compositions front and centre. The British musician, who has been living in Sweden for several years, draws on Scandinavian sources and plays the Swedish fiddle and Finnish kantele alongside cello, guitar, harmonica, mandolin and bass guitar - all performed by himself alone.

On the Solo Tour '26, Cooper brings his programme "Even for a shadow" to the BüchnerBühne Riedstadt.
